Good Smile Company seems to be dominating my figure collection as of late. They’ve now tied Kotobukiya with the top step each consisting of ~26%, the next closet being Alpha x Omega with ~10%. This is also the first figure to break my own rule. I blame the same friend whose daughter I was compelled to purchase, continually linking me pictures of Corti. Shame on him. (NSFW Links: Danbooru / moe.imouto).
What other rules will I break…

Shiki Ryougi, my 2nd in fact. This happens to be the re-release of the figure and as far as I know she’s identically produced and differs only in the date she was created. I’ve heard on good authority that this is not always the case with re-releases of figures, but I’ve yet to see any evidence of differences between original release and re-release. Would be interesting to find a comparison somewhere of a few different re-released figures and their originals. Shiki’s also one of the items that was shipped by SAL, she arrived in fairly decent time at two weeks, and in pristine condition. I don’t think I could have asked for more. Well, I suppose no duty would have been nice…

Kotobukiya’s Plug from Fight Ippatsu! Jūden-chan!! I decided to skip my other figures and review her first since I haven’t seen many reviews out there for her, and she’s being re-released this fall. Plug was completely an impulse purchase, I’d seen the series was coming out, but didn’t know much about it. I’d seen the figure was being re-released and though perhaps I’d pre-order. Surprisingly, Hobby Link Japan had some of the original 2007 run figures in stock, so I jumped on her immediately. To purchase, I jumped to purchase… Continue reading Plug Cryostat Insulator Suit Ver.) by Kotobukiya
Double Review! I admit I’ve been holding out a bit. I’ve had one of these figures for 5 months, surely I could have posted about it previously, but I just never managed to do it. Now that I have two Yami’s I figured it was time I got it over with. I considered posting them separately, but a double review seemed like it could be fun. But it turned out to be a lot more work than I expected.

This review has been a long time coming. I’ve set it aside for another day a few times, saving it for later always. I kept choosing to do this because she’s probably my favourite figure so far and wasn’t quite sure how to present that. Not only is she Horo, one of my favourite characters, but she’s done rather well in this figure. She’s also the smallest Horo I own so far coming in at 1/8th scale.

Another figure produced by Kotobukiya today. Seems they and Good Smile Company make the figures I like most. For those who don’t know, you’ve been under a rock, but Suzumiya Haruhi is a character in a self-titled show The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi by KyoAni. The show is based on a series of light novels by Nagaru Tanigawa and was enormously popular when it aired.

I kind of purchased this figure on a whim one day while watching Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens. Nagi and Jin seemed to have a nice chemistry between them and after a few glances at pre-production images I decided to give in and purchase. Then I waited. And waited. And waited some more. 6 months of waiting she finally shipped and arrived.
