Colorado Trip Log: Day 11

Day eleven was half a rest day and half some exploring. Decided to hit up the Garden of the Gods Park “near” the base of Pikes Peak. Was fun taking pictures from below the summit as well as from the top.

The Garden of the Gods didn’t take too much time to visit, though one could spend a lot more time than I did if they wanted to climb like some of those in the photos below. However you’re required to have a permit prior to doing so, and I didn’t feel like getting a $500 fine, or hurt. But it was still neat to take photos of those who were climbing. And birds.

In other news for today, it was 22°C / 72°F outside at 2pm, yet there was a winter storm warning in effect for the area. I love how drastic the weather can change in this state, I want to live here. That said, it’s 9pm and still not below freezing, or even raining. We’ll see when I wake up I guess.

Today was my last day in Colorado 🙁 tomorrow it’s the road back home. I’m going to miss this state. Though, it’ll be really nice to have a soft towel again, and a real computer.

    Obligatory Horo photo!

    Beautiful, rugged scenery!

I think perhaps I’ll make that my ‘thing’, if I ever travel elsewhere in the world I’ll have to take Horo with me.

Garden of the Gods is awesome, been a while since I went there. People are always getting stuck in places there when climbing so it’s probably a good idea they’re strict about the permits and fines. Lovely shots! ^^

I probably would have got stuck if I’d attempted to climb so it’s best I was scared away with the $500 fine (because risking my life wasn’t enough of a deterrent it seems).
